These panels were part of a display held in Winsford Church on the 28th and 29th of June 2014 to commemorate those who played a part in World War 1. All panels displayed in Winsford Church are available to download through this site in high quality PDF format, which can be viewed on most computers and mobile devices. |
Some were born and brought up in the Winsford area and some are the relatives of those now living here. Some returned from the War and some did not. |
For many, the only information available is a scant recognition of their life or their death - an old photograph, a line in the 1911 Census or a few details on a Commonwealth War Graves Certificate. For others we have had the grateful assistance of sons, daughters, grandchildren, in-laws and all manner of relatives and friends of those shown here. |
We have done our best to ensure that the information on the panels is as accurate as possible. Much time has been spent studying Census details and Military Records, as well as local and National Archives. If you know of any errors, please let us know. If you have any more facts that you think are worthy of note please let us know of those as well. |
We would like to thank all those who helped and contributed to the making of the display. It is one small village's part in history. |
